(Kura-no-Kyodokan Sairi Yashiki)Sairi Yashiki 25 Aza-Machinishi, Marumori-machi Museum The storehouse and mansion of the Sairis, a wealthy merchant family that prospered from the final years of the Tokugawa Shogunate up through the Meiji Period as well as Taisho and Showa eras, were restored in faithful recreation of the modern Japanese lifestyle. There is a coffeehouse with a traditional kura (storehouse) atmosphere on the second floor of a souvenir shop. The interior of the coffeehouse has a modern yet retro atmosphere that brings you back to the world of Taisho romance. In the newly constructed annex, which is modeled after old European-style mansions, the early Showa era is recreated through images and dioramas, helping refresh vague recollections of the past that would otherwise be locked away within the corners of public recollection.
