Cultural Assets (Rinnoji Teien) Name Garden of Rinno Temple Location 1-14-1 Kitayama, Aoba-ku, Sendai-shi Description This old temple was moved from Iwade Mountain when Date Masamune came to Sendai. Its garden is in the Chisen Kaiyu style with red pine and cedar forests. This garden has a special atmosphere in the middle of April when weeping cherry blossoms wonderfully appear over the three-story pagoda, and in the middle of May when its iris garden is filled with blossoms. It also features autumn colors (from the end of October to the end of November), and snowy landscapes (December to February). Irises bloom from the end of June to the beginning of July, there are water lilies in the pond (June to September), and azaleas and peonies (from the middle of May to the beginning of June).
