This row of cherry trees continues for eight kilometersyen, and is thus called "1"yen,000 cherry trees at a glance" or "Hitome Senbon Zakura." During their flowering stage the trees and snow-crested Zao mountains paint a splendid portrait of early spring. The area is designated as one of Japan's 100 beautiful places for cherry blossoms.
